DHA
|
The DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid) (C22:6 n-3) or cervonic acid is a long chain polyunsaturated fatty acid of the Omega 3 series. DHA is the Omega 3 fatty acid wich is present in the highest concentration in humans. Because of its crucial role in membrane architecture, it is present in all human and animal cells. It is essential for the correct functioning of cells and the maintenance of biological equilibrium. DHA also helps the prevention of cardiac and circulatory complications and the risks associated with elevated cholesterol (arrhythmia, thrombosis, atherosclerosis). It is also implicated in anti-inflammatory and immune mechanisms. It has been established that low DHA erythrocyte levels are associated with numerous diseases, notably of a neurological type (AIDS, Alzheimer's disease, depression).Applications Applications Santé des Lipides (ASL) is able to propose a broad range of products containing glycerophospholipids (GPL), with a high level quality up to 95%, with a high rate of DHA: GPL-DHA®. GPL-DHA® is particularly important for:
GPL-DHA produced by ASL is an amphiphilic surface active compound which can be integrated into any medium, whether it is hydrophilic (aqueous) or hydrophobic (oily), without the use of an emulsifier or high shearing forces. Advantages of the GPL-DHA ® compared with Omega 3 oils (EPA+DHA)
